In the Beginning

The blog idea for "stories" started out as a joint venture between my best friend and me. Well, to be fair it wasn’t so much of an actual idea as it was a drunken ode to our friendship.

Amiee and I went to high school together in Vancouver, WA. and after graduation moved to Utah with two of our other close friends. Boyfriends, jobs, apartments, houses and a few years later she moved to Seattle ... I stayed in Utah. We made a commitment to each other to stay in constant touch as to not loose the nuances of our relationship. I interpreted that as a constant need to drunk dial her on random Thursday's. During one said drunk dial I spewed a half-assed attempt at entrepreneurship, wedged in between "Oh I love you girl" and "I miss you man" this grand “money making” idea about writing a book entitled stories came pouring out of me ... "don't you see, it will be soooooo great, we just write a bunch of stories, and that my friend becomes the title!" Brilliant. Amiee who is far more detailed with her accounts of all events can very likely provide you better accuracy the play by play of the message (she’s known as the stenographer in our group of friends, mostly because here drinking habits are not quite as established as mine.)

So here we are in two different cities with similar tales of living downtown and walking through the street of our different cities. Running into weirdo’s, being weirdo’s and ultimately needing an outlet to voice our WTF take on it all. Thus the adaptation of the original idea stories, now titled Stories: A tale of two cities. which is also not a book but instead a blog, how modern of us huh?. Let the games begin.
